3M™ ProTop Variable

The 3M™ Speedglas™ ProTop System is a hard hat and welding helmet combination designed for welders working in areas with overhead hazards. Traditional welding hard hats create a very high center-of-gravity when the welding helmet is raised so the user may feel off-balance, and the leveraged weight may put additional strain on neck muscles. On the other hand, the ProTop System's pivot mechanism has two sets of axes: one to lift the welding helmet away from the welder’s face, and another axis to "nest" the welding helmet down low over the hard hat, in a balanced, secure position. The acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) hard hat's low-profile is excellent for entering space-restricted areas. A short brim design means the welding helmet and filter are closer, which is ideal for precision welding. Ratcheting headband for fast, secure, top-of-the-head sizing. Sweatband is made from terry cloth and soft foam. Six-point webbing system for excellent shock absorption and comfort.
